PRAS, short for Paradise Rubber Athletic Shoes, is a Japanese footwear label founded in 2015 by Tanushi Tomoki, the designer behind Anachronorm. The brand builds canvas sneakers using kiln-fired vulcanized sole construction, a heat-bonding process still offered by only a couple of factories in Kurume. Uppers use heavyweight Hanpu cotton canvas woven in Kojima on vintage Toyoda shuttle looms, paired with non-slip rubber outsoles modeled on 1950s US Navy athletic shoes. Core styles include the Shellcap low and high tops, sold through heritage specialists such as Clutch Cafe and Redcast Heritage.
