What to know about Second/Layer
Second/Layer is an independent Los Angeles menswear label founded in 2013 by Southern California natives Joshua Willis, Jacob Willis and designer Anthony Franco (Ant De Padovane), a former Stussy lead designer. The brand describes its approach as "tailor-made/daily-wear," translating surf and skate subculture into soft-structured tailoring: pleated Valluco and Passo trousers, camp-collar and pin-point shirting, knitwear, suiting and boots in neutral, largely gender-neutral palettes, much of it made in Italy. It remains founder-owned and independent, with current-season collections carried by SSENSE, END. and Maxfield.
