Shwood is a Portland, Oregon eyewear maker founded in 2009 by Eric Singer with Ryan Kirkpatrick, Daniel Genco, Taylor Murray and Philip Peterson, after Singer's 2005 prototype cut from a madrone limb. It builds sun and prescription frames from domestic hardwoods, stone, recycled newsprint and bio-acetate, finished with Carl Zeiss and polarized lenses at its Portland workshop. Current lines include stainless-steel and performance styles plus collaborations with Pendleton and Smokey Bear, and national park–themed CAMP releases. Frames are sold direct and through independent optical shops.
