Simmons Bilt

Simmons Bilt is a Scottish leather outerwear house that revives an Oakland, California jacket maker active from the early 1900s until the late 1930s. Relaunched in 2012 by the team behind Alexander Leathers, it operates from Ladyknowe Hall in Moffat, where single craftspeople cut, stitch and finish each garment rather than working on production lines. The range covers aviator, flight and motorcycle jackets patterned on 1920s–1960s originals, built with premium hides, walking-foot machines and period-correct hardware. Made-to-order and collaboration models sell through specialist heritage retailers worldwide.
