Tombolo

Tombolo is a New York label founded by childhood friends Mike Sard and Chris Galasso, who left careers in political risk and financial PR to remake the Hawaiian shirt. The independent brand calls its output "escapewear" and bills itself the home of the cabana shirt: unisex short- and long-sleeve camp shirts in rayon poplin, Tencel and linen, plus terry-cloth sets, trousers, swim and knitwear built around original, kitsch-leaning souvenir prints. Collaborations with artists drive much of the print program. A flagship store operates on Mott Street in Lower Manhattan.
