Founded in Chicago in 1924 by the Eckerling brothers, the name was relaunched roughly fifteen years ago by a Japanese vintage collector with the family's blessing.
Patterns come from the real archive
The Tokyo line reissues the original bib overalls, coveralls, work shirts and painter's pants using access to the founding family's archive.
Priced below the repro-workwear norm
It sits in the lower-middle tier and leans urban rather than purist, pairing utilitarian cuts with streetwear styling at retailers such as HINOYA.

Brand facts
Workwear label founded in 1924 in Chicago by Austrian immigrant brothers Max and Joe Eckerling, who produced bib overalls, coveralls, work shirts and painter's pants before shifting to industrial uniforms in the late 1970s. Roughly fifteen years ago a Japanese collector of vintage American workwear gained the founding family's support and archive access, reissuing classic patterns for the Japanese market. The Tokyo-run line, marketed as "Born in Chicago, Bred in Tokyo," now outsells the original US business and stocks retailers including HINOYA, blending utilitarian cuts with contemporary urban styling.
