Unlikely Dry Goods is the Tokyo menswear label launched in 2023 by Shinsuke Nakada, the former BEAMS buyer and creative director behind DAIWA PIER39. The brand reworks American uniform archetypes — military fatigues, workwear jackets, Ivy League trad staples and college sportswear — with off-kilter proportions, washed vintage-style fabrics and quietly subversive detailing. Signatures include Time Travel denim, reversible Vietnam jackets, BDU trousers and utility vests. It remains independent, selling through Japanese stockists, Nepenthes pop-ups in New York and Los Angeles, and END. in the UK.
