Y's

Y's is the first label founded by Yohji Yamamoto, launched in Tokyo in 1972 and still the core women's line of Yohji Yamamoto Inc. It applies menswear tailoring to womenswear: oversized coats, wide trousers, asymmetric layered skirts and draped shirting, mostly in black with washed cottons, wool gabardine and jersey. The house marked the label's 50th anniversary in 2022 with the archive-referencing "Y's 1972" collection, and continues sub-lines including Y's for Men and the graphic-driven Y's Bang On!, sold through Tokyo flagships and global wholesale.
