017 Shop is an advanced contemporary boutique in downtown Vancouver, owned and directed by Clayton Chan, who also co-founded local backpack label VELT Designs. The store began in Gastown and now trades from 535 Howe Street, buying menswear and womenswear that deliberately blurs gender lines. Racks mix hard-to-find Asian and European designers, including Post Archive Faction and J.L-A.L, with bags, footwear and jewellery. Chan's stated buying rule is to stock only labels the shop fully believes in, prioritising construction over seasonal trend pieces.
