Akila Glasses

AKILA is an independent Los Angeles eyewear label founded by designer Chris Mart, who previously worked in streetwear and as creative director of a Spanish sunglasses company. It makes optical frames and sunglasses in Italian acetate, stainless steel and bonded neoprene, with nylon Optical Class 1 lenses, drawing on 1990s and Y2K shapes plus skate and surf references. The brand runs regular artist and streetwear collaborations, opened a New York flagship in 2022, and added a Silver Lake store on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles in 2024.
