bal is a Tokyo label based in Gohongi, Meguro-ku, where it operates a flagship store alongside its online shop. It evolved out of the earlier Balance Wear Design line and works to an "active urban wear support system & graphix supply" concept, building modern casual wear around 1990s cross-cultural references. Output centers on graphic T-shirts, sweats and knitwear, light outerwear and caps, with recurring logo and jacquard treatments; a recent release is a jacquard cotton crewneck sweater. Drops appear regularly via the brand site and Japanese stockists.
