Betsey Johnson​

Betsey Johnson is a New York label founded in 1978 by the designer and business partner Chantal Bacon, after her 1960s stints at Paraphernalia and Alley Cat. It trades in girlish punk maximalism: tulle and bodycon party dresses, heart- and skull-motif jewellery, novelty handbags, footwear and hosiery in hot pink, leopard and sequins. Steven Madden Ltd. has owned the trademarks since 2010, following a $48.8 million debt load and a 2012 Chapter 11 that closed all 63 stores. The line now runs mainly through licensing and department stores such as Macy's, Nordstrom and Dillard's.
