HELMSTEDT

Helmstedt is a Copenhagen womenswear label founded in 2018 by designer Emilie Helmstedt, which debuted at Copenhagen Fashion Week with the SS19 "Oceania" collection. Its signature is hand-painted prints, drawn by Helmstedt in watercolour and oil and applied to knitwear, dresses, shirting and outerwear alongside embroidery and crochet detailing. The label works with organic cotton and recycled yarns, and Emilie Helmstedt was a semi-finalist for the 2020 LVMH Prize. It runs Helmstedt Archive, a Copenhagen store that began as a pop-up and was extended indefinitely.
