Iris Van Herpen

Iris van Herpen is an independent Dutch couture house founded in 2007 by the ArtEZ graduate and former Alexander McQueen intern of the same name, with its atelier in Amsterdam. It shows on the Paris Haute Couture Week calendar and builds garments through 3D printing, laser cutting, hand-sculpted resin and biofabricated materials, developed with scientists, architects and engineers. The Fall 2025 collection Sympoiesis, presented July 7, 2025, included a dress grown with roughly 125 million living bioluminescent algae. The label remains founder-owned, sells couture by commission and is widely collected by museums.
