John Lofgren Bootmaker is a heritage footwear label founded in 2010 by California-born John Lofgren, who moved to Japan through the vintage clothing trade. The brand reproduces early-to-mid-20th-century American military and work boots — engineer, combat, logger, monkey and service styles — using Goodyear welt construction, Horween Chromexcel, Shinki Hikaku shell cordovan and Japanese steel shanks. Everything is made in Japan by master artisans, with components sourced from Japan, the US, UK, France, Germany and Italy. Boots typically run $900–$1,650; limited editions and pre-orders sell out regularly.
