Katin USA

Katin USA is a California surf and workwear label that began in 1954, when Nancy and Walter Katin opened the Kanvas by Katin boat-cover shop in Surfside, just north of Huntington Beach. Local surfers wanted tougher shorts, so Walter tailored trunks from boat canvas, and the brand claims status as one of California's first surf-trunk makers. Today the range spans boardshorts and swim trunks, tees, fleece, canvas and cord pants, workshirts and caps, with rotating artist-designed graphics. It operates independently from Huntington Beach, selling direct and through surf retailers.
