KREWE is a New Orleans eyewear brand founded in 2013 by Stirling Barrett, who first sold frames from a cart towed behind a bicycle at city festivals. It makes hand-finished acetate and metal sunglasses and optical frames, many named for Louisiana streets and neighborhoods, with sculptural silhouettes, layered acetate colorways and mirrored or gradient lenses. Design and retail center on a French Quarter flagship, and the label sells direct-to-consumer online and through US specialty and department stores. Barrett remains founder, CEO and creative director.
