Lapima
Lapima is an independent Brazilian eyewear label founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Gustavo and Gisela Assis, still owner-operated. Frames are hand-shaped from Italian acetate at the couple's atelier in Campinas, outside São Paulo, where a team of local artisans takes each pair through dozens of cutting, carving and polishing stages. Silhouettes are sculptural and oversized — cat-eye aviators, chunky 1950s-style optical frames — in palettes drawn from Brazilian landscapes and modernist architecture. The brand added a higher-end Atelier line in 2024 and sells through roughly 300 optical and fashion retailers in about 30 countries.
