What to know about Momotaro Jeans

Momotaro Jeans is a Japanese heritage denim label founded in 2006 in Kojima, Kurashiki, the denim district of Okayama Prefecture, and operated by Japan Blue Group alongside its Collect Mills weaving operation. Named after the folk hero Momotaro, it weaves proprietary selvedge fabrics such as its 15.7oz Zimbabwe-cotton flagship on shuttle looms, uses natural and deeply concentrated indigo dyeing, and marks jeans with pink selvedge and hand-painted "Going to Battle" back-pocket stripes. The range spans tapered and wide jeans, jackets, and workwear-inflected tops, sold through its own stores including a Kyoto flagship opened in 2024 and international stockists.
