Purple Mountain Observatory

Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO) is an East London label founded by creative director Matt Braun, who previously spent years designing for mainstream apparel brands. Named after the Chinese astronomical institute near Nanjing, PMO builds unisex technical outerwear and layering for trail and city use: waterproof shells, ultralight insulated puffers, gilets, shirt jackets and trousers. Signature pieces employ thermochromatic colour-changing fabrics, thermo-mapped construction and bold colour-blocking. The brand runs group hikes and community activations, and stocks with END., Sneakersnstuff and Urban Industry. It remains independently owned with no reported ownership change.
