Spalwart

Spalwart makes retro athletic footwear in a Slovakian factory, where founders Christoffer Brattin and Fredrik Johansson found 1950s-era machinery and vintage moulds in 2010. The Swedish label reissues mid-century track, tennis and military training silhouettes — Marathon Trail, Special Low and Mid, Tempo, Smasher — in suede, nylon mesh and canvas, with vulcanised or stitched rubber soles and minimal branding. Production still relies on the original lasts and traditional hand methods. Stocked by SSENSE, Farfetch and independent boutiques, alongside a small minimal sportswear line.
