Alpina
Alpina is a Swiss sports-watch maker founded in 1883, when Gottlieb Hauser united independent watchmakers into a corporation that later registered the Alpina name and produced its own movements. Nearly killed by the quartz crisis, it was revived in the early 2000s by Frederique Constant founder Peter Stas and now builds and tests watches at a purpose-built Geneva site. Collections include the Alpiner and Alpiner Extreme, Seastrong Diver, Startimer Pilot and Comtesse, marked by the red-triangle logo and rugged, weather- and corrosion-resistant cases.
