Chamula is an artisanal knitwear, footwear and accessories label founded by designer Yuki Matsuda after his 1990s travels through rural Mexico, and one of four brands under his California-based Meg Company alongside Yuketen, Monitaly and Epperson Mountaineering. Named after the Chiapas township of San Juan Chamula, it works with Indigenous Mexican artisans who hand-spin, hand-dye and hand-knit Merino wool sweaters, weave textiles on foot-pedal looms, and build leather huarache sandals. Output stays small-batch, and pieces vary individually. The brand remains active, releasing a Buck Mason huarache collaboration in 2025.
