Cheap Monday

Cheap Monday was a Stockholm denim label founded in 2004, built around cheap skinny jeans, washed black tailoring and a skull-with-inverted-cross logo that made it a fixture of mid-2000s indie style. H&M acquired parent company Fabric Scandinavien AB in 2008, alongside Weekday and Monki. Distribution ran through roughly 3,000 wholesale accounts plus a London flagship and Tmall. H&M announced closure in December 2018, citing a wholesale model under pressure, and wound the brand down by June 2019, cutting about 80 jobs in Stockholm and Tranas.
