Cross Colours
Cross Colours is a Los Angeles streetwear label founded in 1989 by Carl Jones and TJ Walker under the slogan "Clothing Without Prejudice." Built around bold red, green, black and yellow colorblocking, kente prints and an X logo referencing Malcolm X, its baggy jeans, sweatshirts, tees and caps carried social and political messaging that defined early-1990s hip-hop dressing. Distribution collapsed after retail partner Merry-Go-Round's bankruptcy, but the founders reunited in 2014 and still own and operate the brand, producing archive re-issues, HBCU capsules, artist collaborations and museum exhibitions.
