JackThreads
JackThreads was an online men's retailer started in 2008 by Jason Ross in Columbus, Ohio, selling discounted streetwear, skate and surf labels via members-only flash sales. Thrillist Media Group acquired it in 2010 and spun it off in 2015 alongside a $54 million funding round. In 2016 it pivoted to a full-price in-house line of denim, tees, knitwear and boots, with Reebok and Cole Haan collaborations, plus a free at-home "TryOuts" try-on model. Mass layoffs came in early 2017 and operations ceased that May; a brief relaunch by former staff did not last.
