MAN-TLE is an independent Australian label founded in 2015 by married couple Aida Kim and Larz Harry, who met in Tokyo while working for Comme des Garcons, at Dover Street Market and BLACK Comme des Garcons respectively. Operated from Perth under Heavy Weight Clothing Pty Ltd, it designs unornamented, boxy unisex shirting, outerwear and trousers manufactured in Japan with family-run mills, including a paraffin wax-coated cotton developed with Shizuoka weaver Furuhashi Weaving. Ranges are numbered sequentially rather than seasonally, prioritising textile development, repairability and durability over trend cycles. It remains founder-owned with a Perth shop and global stockists.
