What to know about Marques'Almeida

Marques'Almeida is a womenswear house founded in London in 2011 by Portuguese designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, who met in Porto and paired up on the Central Saint Martins fashion MA. The label built its signature on frayed, raw-edge denim and deconstructed 90s-grunge tailoring, adding jeans to the line in 2015, the same year it won the LVMH Prize. Now studio-based in Portugal while still showing on the London Fashion Week schedule, it sells direct and through SSENSE and other luxury retailers. Independent; no ownership change reported.
