Nasty Gal is an online-only womenswear label founded in 2006 by Sophia Amoruso, who began by reselling vintage on eBay before building a Los Angeles e-commerce business. It sells party dresses, going-out tops, denim, faux-leather outerwear and occasion pieces at fast-fashion prices, with constant new drops, influencer campaigns and heavy promotions. After the company filed for bankruptcy, a US court approved the sale of its intellectual property and customer data to UK retailer Boohoo for $20 million in February 2017; the brand now trades under Boohoo's successor, Debenhams Group.
