Rier is a Paris-based unisex label founded in 2019 by Andreas Steiner, a South Tyrol native who previously designed at Prada, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton. The brand reworks Alpine workwear and Tyrolean dress codes into what Steiner calls decontextualised heritage luxury: loden and boiled-wool outerwear, technical knitwear and hardwearing trousers in earth tones, produced with small European artisans and family-run mills. Steiner was shortlisted for the 2021 LVMH Prize, and the label has collaborated with Salomon and designer Martino Gamper.
