Born from Slam City Skates
Founded in 1998 by Russell Waterman and Sofia Prantera, who had run Holmes for Slam City Skates; the name comes from the character Silas Holmes.
Cult status came via Japan
It grew out of late-1990s skate shops, record stores and indie magazines, and found its biggest audience in Japan through Supreme's distributor.
