Toga Virilis is the menswear line of Toga, the Tokyo label founded by designer Yasuko Furuta in 1997 under Toga Archives Ltd. Launched for Autumn/Winter 2011-12, it is best known for footwear: harness boots, Chelsea boots and platform styles built in leather and suede with signature graphic metal hardware, buckles and studs. Collections mix mid-century Western and rockabilly references with Japanese avant-garde proportions, alongside tailoring and knitwear.
