Upper Playground is an independent art-and-apparel label founded in San Francisco by artist Matt Revelli with Matt Yep and Dennis Kennedy, growing out of a Lower Haight record shop. It builds graphic T-shirts, hoodies, caps and prints around collaborations with painters and illustrators, including Jeremy Fish (Superfishal), Sam Flores (TwelveGrain) and Usugrow (Shinganist), and uses a walrus head as its house mark. The company still runs its Fillmore Street flagship alongside the adjacent FIFTY24SF gallery, which exhibits many of the same artists.
