Velva Sheen

Velva Sheen makes American-made cotton basics rooted in mid-century college and military sportswear. Founded in Cincinnati in 1932, the original company supplied sweatshirts and printed tees to universities, summer camps, sports teams and the US Armed Forces before ceasing operations; it was later revived under Japanese ownership and now operates from Los Angeles. The line centres on tubular-knit crew tees, pocket tees, raglan sweatshirts and hooded pullovers reproduced from the brand's archive, with double-needle collars, single-needle hems and domestically spun, sewn and dyed cotton.
