American Giant makes casual basics entirely in the United States, from domestically grown and spun cotton to cutting and sewing at partner factories in the Carolinas. The range centers on heavyweight fleece — the full-zip hooded sweatshirt that launched the brand and drew viral attention as a best-in-class hoodie — alongside T-shirts, sweatpants, flannel shirts, denim, and women's knitwear and dresses. Founder Bayard Winthrop, previously president of Chrome Industries, still leads the privately held company, which sells mainly direct-to-consumer online and campaigns publicly for rebuilding domestic apparel manufacturing.
