YOKO SAKAMOTO

YOKO SAKAMOTO is a unisex Japanese label from designer Yoko Sakamoto, who began working under her own name in 2013 and has presented seasonal collections since the mid-2010s. The brand makes pared-back everyday garments — work shirts, easy pants, blousons, knitwear, coats and small leather goods — from natural cottons, wools, silks and cashmeres, setting no seasonal theme and letting material and silhouette lead. Signature pieces are hand-dyed with kakishibu persimmon tannin or sumi ink at historic Kyoto workshops, so colour ages with wear. It stays independent, selling direct plus via Namu Shop, Colbo and Glasswing.
