Frank Leder is an independent Berlin menswear label run by its namesake designer, born 1974 in Nuremberg and trained at Central Saint Martins, where he won the Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award. Collections mine German cultural history: workwear, folk dress, military uniform and tailoring cut from Deutschleder and Schladminger loden, plus washed linens, nightshirts and chore jackets, largely produced in Germany in small runs. Leder also makes the Tradition line of German herbal-recipe grooming products, furniture and objects, and lectures at German universities. Womenswear launched in 2004 with Maki Inagaki; the brand now focuses on menswear.
