Pleats Please Issey Miyake is the pleated ready-to-wear line of Tokyo-based Issey Miyake Inc. It first appeared within the Issey Miyake mainline in 1988 and became a standalone label in 1993. Garments are cut oversized from polyester jersey, then heat-pressed into fine permanent pleats, producing lightweight, machine-washable, packable clothes that stretch with the body. The range covers tunics, wide trousers, cardigans, dresses and scarves in saturated seasonal colours, plus periodic artist capsules. The label marked its 30th anniversary in 2023 with a commemorative collection.
