Porter
Porter is the flagship label of Yoshida & Co., the Tokyo bag maker founded by Kichizo Yoshida, who began training as a bag craftsman in 1918 and reformed the business as Yoshida & Co. in 1951. The Porter name launched in 1962, named for hotel porters. Production remains in Japan through small specialist workshops. The range centres on nylon and cotton utility bags, backpacks, shoulder bags, wallets and pouches, led by the Tanker series with its orange lining drawn from MA-1 flight jackets. The company stays independent and family-run.
