Tokyo label founded in 2016 by self-taught designer Kiichiro Asakawa, who also runs the Tokyo vintage and multi-brand store carol. stein (styled ssstein) makes genderless, minimal tailoring and wardrobe staples: wide trousers, layered shirting, oversized coats and knitwear built on unusual Japanese fabrics and shifted, deconstructed silhouettes in muted greys, browns and black. It staged its first runway at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo in 2023, won the Fashion Prize of Tokyo 2025, and now presents in Paris while stocked by international boutiques.
