Tigra Tigra is a Los Angeles-based label founded in 2016 by Parsons graduate Bailey Hunter, built around Indian handicraft. It develops and produces garments with artisan-owned businesses in Gujarat, including mashroo silk weavers in Old Patan, dye masters in Bhuj and Ahmedabad, and home-based aari embroidery, hand-embroidery and applique artists who set their own prices and are paid directly. Signatures include figurative embroidery, hand-woven mashroo silk, low-impact dyeing, jackets, co-ord sets and blouses. Hunter is also creative director of The Elder Statesman.
