X-girl is a women's streetwear label founded in 1994 by Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and stylist Daisy von Furth as a sister line to LA's X-LARGE, opening its first store in Los Feliz and staging an early guerrilla show in New York. A Japanese company bought the label in 1998, and it now designs and retails primarily from Tokyo. Output centres on face-logo graphic tees, hoodies, cropped knits and nylon outerwear drawing on punk, skate, sports and Y2K references, plus collaborations such as VANDYTHEPINK.
