Armor-Lux
Armor-Lux makes Breton maritime clothing and knitwear from Quimper, where Swiss founder Walter Hubacher started the Bonneterie d'Armor in 1938 producing underwear. Ready-to-wear followed around 1970, and striped marinières, wool sailor sweaters, vareuses, cabans and duffle coats still anchor the range, alongside shirting, outerwear and accessories. Breton industrialists Jean-Guy Le Floch and Michel Guéguen bought the company in 1993 and grew it into corporate uniforms, winning La Poste and SNCF contracts. A substantial share of output remains in French workshops, and the brand runs its own boutiques.
