ellesse
Italian sportswear label founded in Perugia in 1959 by tailor Leonardo Servadio, whose initials L and S give the brand its name. Ellesse built its reputation on ski and tennis kit, and its half-ball logo fuses ski tips with a tennis ball cross-section. The label helped popularise exterior branding and became a 1980s football-casual staple. British group Pentland Brands has owned it since 1993; a 2025 multiyear US licensing deal with The Iconic Brands Corporation relaunched the label Stateside. Current ranges cover Heritage track tops, tennis apparel, loungewear, trainers and accessories.
