Opening Ceremony is a New York fashion label founded in September 2002 by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, named after the Olympic tradition of nations convening. It began as a downtown Manhattan multi-brand store pairing an in-house collection with imports from a rotating "host" country, alongside collaborations including Chloë Sevigny and Vans. Farfetch's New Guards Group bought the brand in January 2020 and the physical stores closed. Coupang acquired Farfetch in late 2023, and New Guards entered Italian restructuring in November 2024; brand output has since been minimal.
