SOUTH2 WEST8 is a Hokkaido-based outdoor label within Japan's NEPENTHES group, home to Needles and Engineered Garments. Started by Kaname Nagaoka as the Nepenthes Sapporo shop, it takes its name from the store's street address and launched as a brand in 2003. Collections revolve around tenkara, traditional Japanese fly fishing, pairing technical waders, rods and vests with city-ready mesh shirts, belted pants and bucket hats in signature camouflage and tie-dye prints. Kento Miura currently directs the line, which remains independently owned and distributed through Nepenthes stores worldwide.
