Avirex makes military aviation-inspired apparel, founded in 1975 by aviation enthusiast Jeff Clyman in New York City. The range centers on reproduction leather flight jackets — A-2 bombers, G-1s and shearling B-3 styles — alongside patch-covered nylon MA-1s, varsity jackets, and graphic tees and hoodies carrying squadron artwork and large back-panel embroidery. Avirex supplied flight jackets to the U.S. Air Force and became a 1990s hip-hop staple worn by Notorious B.I.G., Nas and Snoop Dogg; current collections trade heavily on that archive. Marc Ecko Enterprises is a prior owner of the trademark.
