Barena Venezia is a family-run Italian label from Venice, founded by textile agent Sandro Zara using archive patterns and fabrics traced through closed lagoon-area wool mills. It cuts sartorial cloths into relaxed workwear shapes — unstructured blazers, chore jackets, wide trousers, knitwear and shirting — in muted, lagoon-derived colours, an approach that predates the current soft-tailoring vocabulary. Zara's daughter joined the atelier in 2007 and introduced womenswear. The brand recently opened its first flagship inside Venice's Palazzo Regina Vittoria near St. Mark's Square, alongside international multibrand stockists.
