G-SHOCK
G-SHOCK is Casio's shock-resistant watch line, launched in 1983 with the resin-cased DW-5000C and built around the floating-module construction devised by engineer Kikuo Ibe after roughly 200 prototypes. The range covers the square 5000/5600 series, the slim octagonal GA-2100 (nicknamed CasiOak), analog-digital MT-G models, hand-assembled titanium MR-G pieces, and Mudmaster and Frogman tool watches. Common features include Tough Solar charging, radio and Bluetooth timekeeping, and 200m water resistance. Casio remains an independent Tokyo-listed maker and has sold over 130 million G-SHOCKs, supported by regular streetwear and artist collaborations.
