Gallery Dept. is a Los Angeles label founded by artist-designer Josué Thomas, who sold his first hand-sewn denim piece in 2016 and formalized the brand in 2017. The studio reworks vintage and deadstock clothing by hand: flared, paint-splattered and bleached jeans, distressed logo tees, hoodies and workwear, finished so each garment reads as a one-off rather than a production run. Thomas remains the owner and creative lead, working from an LA studio and store, and extends the name into painting, furniture, photography and music.
